Venezuela Chavez-TV Makes Its Debut

For many Latin Americans it will be seen like the dawn of a new era, excitement like that generated on August 1, 1981, when The Buggles Video Killed the Radio Star was broadcast at 12:01 a.m. marking the debut of a brash young network called MTV.

Well Chavez TV a/k/a Telesur is finally on the air. Instead of Greg Kihn, Saga and under-produced Pat Benatar videos, we get cartoons of Cubans beating up on Gringos and 4 hours of Chavez blabbing according to Miguel at Devil's Excrement.

I need to watch this, if only for sheer comedic value.

Someone out there with a DVD recorder, should start copying the wackiest programs, and putting short out-takes on the web.
